Lhabab Düchen- Buddha Shakyamuni’s Descent From Tushita Heaven

Lhabab Düchen 2020 (anniversary of Buddha Shakya-muni descent from heaven after liberating his mother and teaching to the gods) is another auspicious occasion (one of four major Buddhist festivals) that takes place on the 22^nd day of the ninth lunar month according to the Tibetan Buddhist calendar; falling on Saturday, November 7th, in 2020.

Lhabab Duchen 2020: How to Celebrate:

These auspicious occasions (düchen) inspire us to practice extra Dharma by engaging in various virtuous activities. It is said that all merits created on these auspicious days are multiplied up to one hundred thousand times! What better way to use those merits other than further dedication towards Buddhahood for all beings? And that’s what we do at the Buddhist Institute of Universal Compassion.
