Walk a Mile for Tibet
Tashi Delek Dharma brothers & sisters! Let’s get out and stand up for Tibet! Put on your walking shoes and join us at Spokane City Hall to Walk a Mile for Tibet Sunday, March 7th at 2 PM. We’ll take a peaceful walk in solidarity with Tibetan activist, Tenzin Tsundue. Tenzin’s 300-mile march began on Feb 12, the Tibetan New year from Dharmshala and will end in Delhi on March 10, the 62nd Tibetan National Uprising Day. March 10 commemorates the day hundreds of thousands of Tibetan people rose up against the Chinese occupation of Tibet in 1959.
Tenzin is calling India for a review on its One China Policy; under which the India-China border tension has erupted since. The march has now become a global call to all nations to review their One China Policy.
We as Americans feel proud for US Tibet Policy and Support Act 2020. We support the Tibetan people and their compassionate culture.
How can you support?
Can’t join us that day? Don’t live in Spokane and still wish to express your support? Walk a short distance from wherever you are between now and March 10th, 2021. Next, spread word of your solidarity for the Tibetan cause by sharing a photo of your walk on social media using the hashtag #WalkaMileforTibet. Last but not least, kindly take a moment to sign Tenzin’s petition asking Indian PM Modi to repeal its “ËœOne China Policy’ acknowledgement.
